Crisis Services for Children Network

Crisis Services for Children Network History

The Crisis Services for Children Network (CSCN) was developed in response to a Request for Proposal of the Southern Region Counties of the State of Wisconsin.  The Southern Region county group initiated contact with the Wisconsin Association of Family and Children’s Agencies (WAFCA) requesting that a potential provider be involved in the development of a network that both provides a direct service to counties and serves as an agent for program development within the Southern Region of Wisconsin.  Northwest Counseling and Guidance Clinic – Northwest Connections responded with a proposal which was accepted by the county group.

Crisis Services for Children Network

This network is designed to assist counties with matching children experiencing a crisis to the most appropriate crisis stabilization services.  Each county identifies specific providers that can be used in their community.  Providers throughout the state will be contacted by Northwest Connections to initiate their participation in the network.  Northwest Connections will match a child to crisis stabilization services, provide necessary training experiences to the providers, and coordinate transportation and placement of each child based on the individual county preferences.  In addition, the CSCN will serve as the agent for ongoing program development throughout the region.

Crisis Services for Children Network Philosophy

We recognize the importance of collaboration, client-centered and community-based interventions.  The principles of respect, support, and least restrictive treatment, guide our interventions.

Northwest Connections (NWC) works in collaboration with provider agencies and county human service departments to provide comprehensive, community-based, crisis services.

Our system of collaboration with counties and service providers creates opportunities to maximize use of pre-existing services and creates a seamless customer friendly service while minimizing additional service costs.

How will Northwest Connections interface with Crisis Services for Children Network?

Northwest Connections (NWC) will have a toll free number separate from the direct crisis line.  All providers involved in the Crisis Services for Children Network (CSCN) will contact this number to coordinate services. NWC will collaborate with all members of the CSCN to ensure that we are providing the best services to assist children and their families.
